How/ Where did you two meet?

We met at the Clermont lounge on a Tuesday Karaoke night. HE was there with coworkers and I was coerced into attending with some friends. Our eyes met when I walked in, and we eventually ended up talking and exchanging numbers...

How did he propose?

We planned a trip to Florida for a long Fourth of July weekend (2016) first to see my family in Vero Beach on the east coast of the state (so that Tom could ask my father for his blessing. Which went very well!) and then over to St. Pete Beach on the west coast of the state, to spend 4th of July with my friends from high school. He was going to propose during the fireworks but there were lots of people and it was noisy and we both had gotten sick from the dinner we ate :/ So the next morning during a walk on St. Pete Beach, he got down on one knee and popped the question, which was met with a YES and a delightfully unexpected round of cheers and applause from nearby beachgoers.

What has been the hardest part about wedding planning?

Trying to make everyone happy and trying not to spend too much money! I'm a DIY kind of person, and unfortunately I feel like I need 10 of me to get everything done!

Elegant Peach and Green Styled Shoot | Foxhall Resort and Sporting Club Wedding

This past February I had the pleasure of working a tremendous team of vendors to photograph this styled shoot!  The shoot came together because of the workshop for brides that Simply Catering hosted called Simply Foxhall Workshop.  Brides were able to meet vendors, taste yummy food, and hear from different speakers.  Before the event began, we styled a shoot because if you've ever been to Foxhall, you know exactly why.

Coastal Wedding Inspiration | Beaufort, SC | Anchorage 1770

This shoot really was a dream come true.  I'd wanted to plan my own styled shoot for awhile and when I decided go to Shanna Skidmore's Blueprint Retreat that took place in Beaufort, SC, the wheels started turning.  I mean, we were already going to be in this beautiful little seaside town.  Why not stay an extra day and try to pull together a shoot to do while I was there?

Taylor Doehrman of Taylor Dawn Design quickly came on board and the two of us started planning and recruiting.  Some amazing vendors pulled out all the stops for us to make this happen.

The warm, comforting air of the neighboring sea embraced the bride on her wedding day. Her dreamy wedding dress was quite at home in this ethereal coastal setting. Light and sweet, the bride’s graceful gown matched her gentle and kind spirit. The delicate lace in a modern silhouette demonstrated the romantic and eager love shared by the couple. As the bride wandered around the opulent Anchorage 1770, her sentimental gown was raptured in the sea breeze. Her deep blush, velvet heels helped complete her perfectly classic yet modern look. The perfect marriage of the pastels and deep plum flowers in her floral arrangement held together by the strong, slate, floor-length ribbons were wonderfully symbolic of the couples apparent love for one another: flattering sweet yet absolute. The bride and grooms wedding vows are safely housed in elegant vow books, each differing in style yet exquisitely coupled together.

The bride and groom's patient and comforting love was evident in each of the intricate details of their wedding. The whimsy of the antique calligraphy of their invitation suite well prepared guests for their idyllic reception. The perfectly set tables held white linen table cloths, tall candlesticks, and an Arcadian vase overflowing with a soft, light bouquet. The bride strolls barefoot for a moment alone on the docks to read her beloved’s final words as a single man. The boats eagerly awaiting voyage, at the brides back, were a lovey reminder of her own impending adventure. The bride strolls back, under the Spanish moss, to be united forever with her husband. - Words by Brooke Meaders

The Big Fake Wedding - Atlanta, GA | Three Taverns Brewery - Decatur, GA

In January, I had the pleasure of teaming up with several other amazing vendors to be a part of The Big Fake Wedding!  This event is a bridal show in the form of a fake wedding where a real married couple has a vow renewal ceremony and reception and the guests/ brides-to-be get to experience the vendors in real life!

We had so much fun and I can't thank enough my wonderful assistants that day - Danielle Hulsey and Taylor Doehrman of Taylor Dawn Design.

Mr. + Mrs. Cope | Piedmont Park | Greystone | Atlanta Georgia Wedding Photographer

Anna Kay and Hal are two of the sweetest (and I must say most stylish) people.  They had a beautiful wedding at Piedmont Park in Atlanta this past spring and I am so thankful they chose me to capture it!  I love that they chose Piedmont because it has significant meaning to them.  They love going there for the farmer's market and taking their sweet pup, Rory, on walks there.  We even had their engagement session at Piedmont Park. Their wedding had a tuscan feel and all of the details came together beautifully.

I'm also thankful to have started seeing Anna Kay more in the creative industry!  She has a talent for painting and fashion and has combined the two.  You should all go show her some love and check out her website HERE.

Mr. + Mrs. Bertram | Deep South Farms Wedding | Ellijay, GA Wedding Photographer

First, let me say that Emily and Zach are two of the most wonderful people.  I've known them both together and separately through mutual friends in the past but got to know them so much better through this whole crazy wedding planning process.  They easily show their love for each other and I'm so thankful they asked me to capture their wedding day.  Not only is this couple beautiful inside and out, but their style and test were on point.  We couldn't have asked for a nicer day and even though Zach had a misshap with his car keys at one point, there were no hiccups to the day.  I feel so lucky to have been there to share this day with this couple.

I loved getting to know this classy couple.  They are so joyful and spread that joy to all who surround them.  Even though they planned this wedding from 3 different states, it came together beautifully.  I'm so excited for Ginnie and Tyler to embark on this new journey together where they'll be serving on staff with Campus Outreach in Houston, TX.

Mommy + Son | End of Roll Session | Atlanta Film Photographer

I had a roll of Portra 400 to finish off recently so when I visited my friend Katie at her and her husband's new house, we had an impromptu mommy/teddy photo session!  I love this sweet friend and the fact that she makes one of the best models (and her baby too!) and isn't even wearing make up.

Featured over on Beyond the Wanderlust.

Enjoy!

Danielle + Stephen Film Anniversary Session | Atlanta Film Photographer

Earlier this summer I purchased a medium format film camera and wanted to do some playing so I called up my dear friend, Danielle, to see if she and her husband, Stephen, would be down for a little film session.  Danielle is also a talented Wedding Planner through Chancey Charm - if you are in need you should definitely hire her!

Mr. & Mrs. Collins | Savannah, GA Wedding | Savannah Wedding Photographer

Where to begin? I've known Coleman and Elizabeth for several years now.  We met in college at UGA and were involved in the same campus ministry, Campus Outreach.  These two are beautiful inside and out and it's obvious that it's the love of Christ reflected in their lives.

Coleman was actually the one to email me first about shooting their wedding and I always love it when the groom is the one who initiates.  It shows me they're helping with the planning process too, plus it's usually my friend so that's always fun :)

Coleman and Elizabeth were married in Savannah, GA, which meant I also got to take a little mini vacation.  It was perfect - everything from the palm trees, to the dock and the water, to the hanging moss from the trees.  I loved shooting in this city and I loved photographing this couple.  I hope you enjoy getting to see just a few of my favorite photos, but there were way too many I couldn't even include in this post.
