Margaret and John were married on New Year's Eve and had a celebration to match! I met Margaret through our mutual friend (and now my roommate!), Corey at Corey's birthday party. It was an impromptu bridal consultation of sorts and she and John ended up hiring me for their wedding! Let me tell you, these two are so much fun and I love getting to run into them on the soccer field and elsewhere! This was a different kind of wedding than I'd shot for many reasons. It New Year's Eve and we were going to be staying later in the evening for the festivities, which meant that it being winter, the sun goes down pretty early. The sun was gone before the ceremony started so we had very little natural light during the day. It was my first Greek Orthodox wedding, which was so much fun! There are many traditions and symbolism throughout the ceremony and reception and as a person who loves cultures, this was so interesting for me to learn. The Greek dancing was top notch. I have to say, the throwing of dollar bills might be one of my favorites.
Congratulations on over 6 months of marriage, Mr. + Mrs. Vastakis!
